Only 15 minutes from Duluth, Ivy Black Weddings & Events is a modern, black barn-style venue situated on a stunning property in Saginaw, MN. It’s close to the conveniences of the city, but it feels like its own little beautiful oasis surrounded by stunning tree lines.
Wedding Highlight: Emily & Wesley
Ivy Black provided the perfect backdrop to Emily and Wesley’s special day. We had the privilege of filming their wedding there in June of 2024. This sweet couple had their first look in a gorgeous green field with beautiful trees behind them. Their day was full of so many adorable candid moments between the couple and their friends and family. Perhaps our favorite moment was when Emily dedicated her bouquet to her mom at the reception. Why We Love This Venue for Couples
The owners of Ivy Black created this venue to be exactly what they would want for their own wedding day so they really thought of everything, and it shows!
The spaces for the bridal party to get ready are luxurious and open. For an outdoor ceremony site, your guests will be wowed by the beautiful backdrop of trees behind the wedding party. Guests will have ample room to mingle, get cocktails, and dance the night away in the large open reception space. This venue truly lends itself to a seamless wedding day!
While filming a wedding there in June after an evening of rain, we were worried we would be eaten alive by mosquitos during the golden hour shots. But to our shock, there were no bugs! We briefly commented on this to the owner of Ivy Black, to which they informed us they had sprayed the entire property (not just the ceremony space) so couples wouldn’t contend with bug bites while getting beauty shots! It truly is the little things that make all the difference.

Let us tell you that this venue looks stunning in wedding videos! The black barn-style building itself is beautiful (not to mention the meticulously cared for property surrounding it). The property is massive! We LOVE getting drone shots here.
Having lots of options for places on the property to go for couple shots is so great, and Ivy Black delivers. Whether it’s a backdrop for first looks or a spot for some sunset shots, there really isn’t an angle here that doesn’t look incredibly cinematic. Rain or shine, indoors or outdoors, you know your shots will be beautiful. The place is just stunning!
